I have to concur. April of 1971? How could it be less than five stars? While not as intense (or scary) as '69, neither were our trips.
This has to be the definition of Good-Time Music.

I agree with the poster below 100 percent. The band was at the top of their game during this period. The sound was very clean and upbeat.
Wish I could own this recording on CD. Or better yet, wish I was there to witness the Dead during this year and '72 as well. It's clear the early 70's were a good time to be a Deadhead.

April 71' GRATEFUL DEAD is some of the best "live shows" in recorded human history.
If you ain't hip to this period of the GRATEFUL DEAD you should "expose" yourself to it...get all the April 71 shows, I did.
Garcia's guitar sound was never better than April 1971. Here's a chance for you to witness the sound and the magic.
It's hard to remember and even harder to imagine 1971, but it was nothing like today.
I highly recommend adding this show to your 1971 GRATEFUL DEAD collection. It is a "Must Have" show.
An upbeat, energetic, well rehearsed, fun show from a longtime ago when things were still "young".
I recommend using your EQ during playback of most of the shows on the IA, this one included.
